We look forward to welcoming you to our unique rural retreat, tucked away in the heart of the woodlands and nearby to Suffolk’s beautiful River Blyth. With history dating back to the 1800s, The Smith’s Cottage is your haven away from city life.
Bursting with character and lovingly restored, this Suffolk holiday cottage retains a raft of original features, from stone-flagged floors and wooden doors to a fully equipped traditional kitchen. Curl up in the heart of the cottage by the brick fireplace with your friends and family. Sink into fresh linen in 3 comfortable bedrooms, which can accommodate up to seven guests. The property features off-grid electricity and a wood-fired boiler for hot water.
Outside you’ll find acres of private space in which you may relax, play or explore, along with plenty of parking. Use our idyllic outdoor seating area with a fire pit and a barbecue space. When evening falls, why not star-gaze from the fabulous wood-fired hot-tub?
Our properties are just a 15-minutes walk away from the magical village of Walberswick.

The cottage can house up to 7 guests (5 adults and 2 children) in two and a half bedrooms. Behold, a 1800s-style kitchen boasting into the living/dining room, a family bedroom with a sofa bed that converts into two single beds, as well as a master bedroom and a second bedroom consisting of a bunk bed with a double sized bottom bunk, (please note that the top bunk is not suitable for adults). The cottage has a brand-new outside bathroom just across from it for guests to use. There is a TV with a USB that holds 100 movies to enjoy. It does not have aerial access to ensure that your stay is secluded. The cottage also has an external BBQ and a fire pit for guests to have a warm campfire and barbeque.
In front of the cottage, you shall encounter a wood-heated hot-tub. This must be booked in advance so we can fill it up for you. Please note it carries a surcharge (£35 first day and £10 any additional days). Electricity is powered by solar panels, therefore, phone/computer charging and lighting plus a few hours of movies and music is provided. Hot water is supplied by a burning wood system.

Pets are allowed. However, please ensure they don’t disturb the local nature. Please note we charge an extra cleaning fee of £10 which can be paid on arrival.
Check-ins are between 16.00-19.30. Our specially chosen concierge, who is located within close proximity of the location will be present to welcome guests into the cottage.
The check out is at 12pm.
