Ferndale Cottage is our cute mini-studio in Blythburgh, a 10-minute drive away from both Walberswick and the buzzling Southwold. The unit has character, comprising of a living area with a kitchenette, a brand-new bathroom with walk-in shower and a bedroom in the basement. It's a perfect getaway for couples or friends and has a maximum occupancy of 2.
The cottage is surrounded by plenty of picturesque walking paths and, for relaxation and socialisation, the closest pub is White Hart Inn - only a 1-minute walk away! Blythburgh’s beautiful Holy Trinity Church is also only a 1-minute walk away, and worth visiting for a cultural outing. Why not stroll to the church through the village lanes, giving you a chance to admire the well maintained thatched roofed cottages! You can walk to the village stall to buy your free-range eggs for breakfast whilst you’re there. There’s a gorgeous walking path that stretches to Walberswick and runs next to the River Blyth Estuary, and for bird lovers there’s a bird hide only a 10-minute walk away.
For nature lovers RSPB Minsmere is only a fifteen-minute drive away, and is famous for its bird-watching opportunities. Suffolk coasts have large expanses of protected natural habitats, including beaches, dunes, forests, heathlands, and the River Harbour. The fantastic location of this cottage ensures all this is at your fingertips. However, if you fancy journeying back to civilization for some exciting days out, there are many attractions nearby including Framlingham Castle, Orford Castle, Stonham Barns Owl Sanctuary, Africa Alive and Eastern Farm Park. In the nearby town, there are enough pubs, restaurants, and food stores to cater to your needs, and Southwold is only a short distance away from Walberswick, accessible by ferry and the Bailey Bridge (pedestrian bridge).
